☆To Mari☆

Hey, are you ok??! 6 lessons a day?! I can't believe it...As for me, I teach 3 or 4 lessons a day(but every day!), so I manage to be fine now!

By the way, I haven't had a experience that the student cry yet. But I know teaching a candidate and other grade student is so hard for a teacher. We tend to concentrate on a candidate although we don't do it deliberately(わざと)............(><)

I sometimes meet this kind of the situation. In my case, my primary student is so kind and she doesn't complain if I can't much concentrate on her......so I often sorry for her. Then I always try to talk and communicate with her. It's just a small talk about daily life, but our relationship becomes stronger by doing it.

Then, don't accumulate your stress. Take it easy for you!!

To Mika

I am also busy teaching children... Today I have 6 lessons. It's about 9 hours.
Well, for me, yesterday grade 3 pupil cried. She couldn't answer the question. I was busy teaching the candidate(大学受験生) It was my fault... I wasn't concentrating to her. She went to the headmaster of the juku and cried...(><) He got angry at me and...
So, I don't feel like going to the juku today... Do you have the experiment which your student cried?
It's already time for going to the juku...(. .)
Bye for now

I'm going to Australia!!!

First of all, Merry Christmas to you all!! As I told you already, I worked and couldn't spend romantic time with a lovely boy, but oh well the big event is still to come for me!!! YES!!!!I'm going to Australia tomorrow.I am soooo excited!! I will go with my family and come back before the end of the year. I hope I will have a great time there. So see you guys soon!

Merry Christmas!!!

I'm sorry, I haven't written my blog these days........I was busy(;;)

Then, how did you spend Christmas? I had a part time job today, and got home just now!! I am tired, but one of my student(3th grade of the primary school) gave me a cake which she had made!!! I am really happy☆☆

Then she said that she had gotten a present from Santa. She looked happy♪♪ Of course she is not a Christian, but Christmas is surely a special day for the children, and makes them happy.

As for me, I am not a child any more. But I want to remember a pure mind like my student.

To Hiroki

I read your blog. I found you like detective story!! For me, I like impressive story very much. In my reading class, we are reading Sir Conan Doyle's "The Best of Sherlock homes." I bought books of this in Japanese one because I couldn't understand by reading English. If you want one, I will sell you by a half-price(^^) I don't read anymore...

To Mai

Wow,you didn't sleep?! I can't believe that!! I also take that class but I've never really attended. His voice is so soft that I can hardly catch what he's saying and that puts me into sleep. Maybe you should teach me!!! I'm worried about the exam...

Today...

I didn't sleep in 3rd class today !!
I always sleep this 3rd class, 英語学概論 in Japanese, every Thursday so I am sorry for the teacher, Mr.Akimoto.
Do you take this class? I understood every his words in today's class because I didn't sleep and attended to his words.
I think I can enjoy this class if I could understood the words of processors. This class is very important to me because I will study about the structure of English in next or further more year.
Next year I want to try not to sleep in any class!! Aoyama Gakuin University has a lot of nice teacher and we should take advantage of it!!
By the way what fields do you want to major ??

To Hiroki

Hiroki,
I've just read your writing about test.
I had this test on last Tuesday and I study French as my second foreign language now.
How was your test? I also memorized the answers on prints.
French is much hard for me so I couldn't memorize it sooner...
However I want to speak French more fluently so I will study it more harder than now.
Just Do It!!
↑This is my favorite phrase which my English teacher in junior high school told us.

My boom

Recently, I addict to reading detective novels. Originally, I liked detective comics, but the trigger of this addiction was Armstrong's play. I started to read the novel, "And Then There Were None," and then I read Agatha Christie's novels almost once a week. I was often impressed by the clever stories. Although I want to read all novels, I don't have enough time to read them. So, I want to read only famous stories, at least.

Test...

I guess many of you have an another launguage test tomorrow. I learn German. At first I felt it was very easy, but recently,I can't keep up with the class, so I have to study hard during the winter vacation. However, I probably get good score tomorrow test because the teacher gave us exam questions. All I have to do is that I memorize them. I want to do my best.

These days...

These days I am very busy. I have a part-time job, much homework and preparation for exams. When I was an elementary school student, I had nothing to do but just looking forward the Christmas vacation at this season. I was very happy because I could see my grandparents who were in Osaka. My grandmother died five years ago so Ifeel sad a little when I remember memories of the day... However, I'll go skiing with members of my club in this Christmas vacation so I will be able to enjoy!!

about enquete(アンケート)

We are going to do enquete(アンケート) in IE core class. But I don't have friends from another country... So if you have friends from another country, please help me♡

To Yuka★

I've not heard about such a school!! It may be interesting there. But... what is he doing except Christmas season?? Is he turning to normal people or uncle?? If so, I don’t want to imagine it...

Merriment at Christmas

I just love reading your memories of Christmas. Akiko, I told eveyone at my house about your mother's reply and we all laughed and agreed that she is very clever . . . but it is a bit creepy to think that Santa-san takes over our body while we are sleeping!

The Santa Claus thing is something that many parents have controversy over. We have never spoken "baby-talk" to our daughter and have wanted her to be clear-minded and realistic. Probably, she has experienced many things through travel and being around so many adults that other kids may not have. However, the "Santa-spirit of Christmas" belief is so tender and makes children so happy that it was hard not to do it. So, we never said anything different about it but we left clues like putting similar wrappings on "Santa presents" to our own presents and things like that. We always said things like "Santa is a symbol of giving to loved ones" and things like that, enough so that when she "got it", she would not feel that we had deceived her. In the last couple of years, she has "gotten it" and now understands without our ever directly saying anything. The child has to make the connection---for him/her self--- that the magic of Santa is actually the real magic of parent's love!

Anyway, there are always still presents "From Santa" under the tree. To tell the truth, we always did that even before we had a child!

Thursday, December 14, 2006

To Akiko

Your mother is very clever and romantic♡ In case of my family, one day, my mother suddenly said to me "What do you want for this christmas from me and father?" She didn't say that "What do you want to be given by Santa Claus?" She didn't speak of Santa Claus. I read what my mother wanted to tell.
If I become mother, I have to tell my children that there is no SantaClaus. What is the best way to tell children that there is no Santa Claus??

My Santa is...

Yet, Santa comes to my house every year. Of course I and my sister know the truth. But my parents never admit! My sister always pursues about that but they don't admit.
I wonder when our Santa stop coming. Maybe it stops in 2~3 years.
I'm planning that if my parents tell us everything someday, I will be surprised exaggeratedly.

letter to santa

when I was a little child, I used to write a letter to santa. I wrote what I want and put candy with it. And one year I wanted santa's signature, so I made a space in letter that he can write it. Before I sleep, I was looking forward to seeing it when I 'll wake up.
That morning, I woke up and saw the letter immediately.
There was a signature!!!
But...it was my father's signature.....I was shocked.

To yukako and kaori

I enjoyed reading your blog!! Now that's very funny things but at that time that's must be very shocking things!!

Thanks Kaori☆

Thank you for your comment!
Your house also have decorations! I want to decorate a lot out of my house, but I live in dormitory now so I can't...
Have a nice Christmas!!

(>ω<)

Akiko,Your mother is clever♪
I wish my father had been more clever like your mother..(-_-)

Letter

I also got a letter from Santa when I was a child and I truly thought it was from Santa Claus!! The letter was actually typed, so there was no way to notice my parents' handwriting. I didn't even suspect them even though it's kinda weird to think that Santa Claus uses a computer. But I was not smart enough to think like that. I know my parents tried so hard to make me continue believing in Santa Claus and I think they did a good job.

A Letter from Santa

When I was three years old, I and my sister recieved a letter from Santa. But we noticed the way of writing was similar to that of my mother so we asked my mother why. Maybe she was surprised and felt heat but she said “Santa used my body to write this letter while I was sleeping because he is a English-speaker” She was smart, wasn't she?

Dear Kaori and Mami

I'm not sure, but I might have been mature rather than pure. Though I had believed in magic, on the other hand, I used to be realistic a little.

Mami, I heard the story about Santa Claus school in Scottland. Have you ever heard of the school? There are Santa Claus there.

to Kaori

It was shocking occurence, wasn't it !!?
your parents is very very honest....

When I was a child, I got colored pencil in 72 colores by Santa.
I was very happy♪But, I bigan to suspect the existence of Santa.
so a few month later, I asked my father "Where did you buy the colerd pencil?"
He said " In Ginza"

I was shocked.

Cristmas

Also this year, Christmas is coming soon. I rally love this seaosn!! Because the atomosphere of the town is very heartwarming one and everyone looks like happy. And many illumination for Christmas, such as big trees or moving objects of light on the road, makes me feel like Christmas is the day something special.
Many houses in Japan don't have chimney...I really want it. Someday I'll live a home that has a chimney!!

To Kaori

You have interesting memory of Santa Claus!!! I enjoyed reading your blog. I think your parents are honest and have humor.
By the way, do you know that we can get a letter from Santa?? If we write to Santa in Scotto land, we can receive the letter from him!! I have never written to him so I don't know its truth... But is it fantastic!?

To yuka

I'm surprised at reading your blog,
because your thought about Santa is mature for your age.
To be sure, Santa can't destribute presents to every child who live in the world.

To Mari

I didn't blame my parents, but I was devious.
I asked them to give me present.(-□-)

To Ryoko

Hi, Ryoko♪ You have a wonderful boyfriend, don't you? I really want to meet your delusive boyfriend!! Please tell me about him with more details...
You have a game of badminton!! I'm sure that you will win a game. Do your best★ I wish I could cheer you on that day.
And... you haven't overcome your sick. Please take care of yourself. Take a rest as possible!

To Kaori

It is very shoking occurrence...(><)
What happened next? Did you blame your parents?

Santa Claus

I'm enjoying to read your memories of Santa Claus. Actually I don't have clear memories about my Santa Claus. I had believed in his existence, but I thought he could never come to my house because it has no chimney and there are a lot of children in the world, so he is too busy to go all the houses. I guessed he asked my parents to give us lovely presents instead of him.

The day when I knew truth about Santa.

I had believed Santa till I was 8 years old.
I like Christmas, then I prepared chocorate cokes and milk and letter for Santa every year.
But my Santa didn't give me a letter, which make me unhappy.
My friends was given the letter by Santa.
I watched the letter, I think the handwriting looks like my friends' mother's handwriting.
Her handwriting is very unique.
Then I suspect, but I keep on believing the Santa.
Next year, my mother asked me what do you want by Santa.
I replied that "I want the ticket of SMAP's concert or autograph of Shingo Katori ......"
the request make my mother troubled.

the year I received the letter from Santa first time.
I was very happy.
But the letter said "I'm sorry. Santa is Mama and Papa. We don't prepare the ticket and autograph."

I was shocked.

To Mai

I saw the house which is decorated very colorful and lightning at night.
The house is very beautiful ,isn't it?
When I go home, I through the apartment house whish is decorated, but the decoration is interesting.
The decoration is not lighting but the Santa which is pasted on the window.
When I saw it first time, I was very surprised, because the Santa look like thief.

Casual Meeting(偶然の出会い)

Today, I met my junior person(後輩) of the high school near my partt-time job!!!

She and I belonged to same club, ESS. After my graduating, I heard that she gave up.....When I went to the school festival of my high school in September, I couldn't see her.

So, when I saw her, I was very surprised and happy. She said that she had wanted to have more free time. I was relieved to know that she hadn't hated my club.

By the way, I think my club member is 12 or 13 all together now. I am worried my club, ESS, will disappera in 2 or 3 years.....

☆Thanks Kumiko!!! ☆

Thanks for commenting, Kumiko!!

In fact, I have just come home from my part-time job. I worked from 3:00~9:30.p.m. today.

I am surely tired, but also happy♪ Because my student(5th grade of primary school) got a good score in thepractice examination(模試). Her T-score(偏差値) of Japanese was 58!! Although I didn't teach her difficult things, she studied hard!!

When the students' s effordts paid off, the teachers become much happier than the students. I wish if I could help them to understand clearly from now on☆☆

Bad memories about Santa...

When I was elementary school student, I asked Santa that I wanted game soft of Mario.
However...Santa missed my present...It was not the one which I want...
I was sad at that time, but I forgave him because I love Santa and my father☆
I couldn't remember that still when I believe him...
However, I know that Santa is still exist.
Do you know there are a lot of Santa in Finland??

Thanks a lot!

I was very happy to know about your memories of Santa Claus! I'm sorry but I laughed about mami's experience. Jasco...yeah, that's sad. But lovely parents!
This Saturday, I'm going to eat dinner with my family include my grandparents to observe Christmas. It's an annual event and we give some present to each member. But this year, I haven't buy yet! I must go to find them...good bye my money....
I wish you all have a nice Christmas. And if some of you are going back to your home or going somewhere, Bon Voyage!

Santa Claus

When I was about 9 years old, I wrote a letter to Santa Claus and went to bed hoping a present and a letter. Next morning, I received the present and the letter. But I was shocked because handwriting of the letter was like my mother's handwriting. Then I noticed that Sant Claus was my parents. But I also didn't mentioned because I didn't want to hurt their feelings. It is one of my memories of christmas...

To Dr. Armstrong

I think you were very shocked so much because you believed Santa's existence... It was kind of you to pretend that you were ignorant of the fact.

However, I think Christmas is just an opportunity to celebrate togetherness. Believing Santa is so fantastic but Santa doesn't make us happy-it's our families and friends that we make happy.

We wish your Merry Christmas...♪”

To Mami

Thank you for your photo!! Your dog is very cute♡ Your dog is same breed as my dog!! マーフィー was shetland sheepdog. I like that breed♡ I also like collie♡ I want to have collie next♡

To Mika

You are definitely a tough girl!!!! You work so hard everyday but never forget your homework! I'm really impressed with you, I work only three times a week but for me, that's really hard and feel like I don't have enough time to study. But the thing is, I don't do it when I have time. I never start homework until the day before the due date. I know I should do it earlier but I can't. I'm such a procrastinator.

Anyway, don't exert yourself too much!! Take care of yourself. I hope your students will pass the entrance exams.

Wow! Memories of Santa. . .

I was about 7 years old when my father and mother said "Let's set a camera-trap for Santa Claus and see if we can get a picture of him!" Of course, I was extremely excited about this because Christmas is a very special time of year for me (my birthday is one week before). So, we set a very complex wire system across a doorway, attached to the shutter of a camera so that when Santa walked though that door, he would trip over the wire and set off the camera. I made special Christmas cookies with my mother and we put them on a dish with a big glass of milk for Santa (we did this every year and it was always delightful to me that the milk had been drunk and just a few crumbs of cookies left on the plate very year). The next morning, I got up early and ran into the living room. Sure enough, there was a photo on the floor just beneath the camera (it was an instamatic Kodak Poloroid camera, one of the early models)! There was Santa, with big white beard and a red suit, waving and smiling at the camera. This would have been my parent's delight if the whole thing had worked (after all, my father had gotten a Santa Claus costume to dress in and everything . . .), but unfortunately, being a sharp-eyed boy, I noticed my father's distinctive diamond wedding ring on "Santa's" hand and . . . well, suddenly, the illusions of my childhood came to an abrupt end.

I said nothing to my parents for another year or two because I didn't want to hurt their feelings . . .

Wow, memories of long, long ago . . .

To Kumiko

I also think Christmas is not always a day for couples, as you said. I guess people feel lonely because of many illumination.
By the way, I think Japanese people is eccentric. Fundamentally, Christmas is a day which praise birth day of Jesus, but almost all people don't think such thing at all. In Japan, Chrismas is only a day that people enjoy themselves. I think it is one of Japanese peculiar culture!

Santa

Many people talk about Christmas!! I like it and its atmosphere!! There are many illumination and beautiful tree, and Christmas song is very good. I really like Christmas song me, I believed Santa Claus when I was 9 years old. Why I didn't come to believe his existence?? It is because I saw the Jasco's sticker on my present....Santa doesn't buy a present in Jasco.... However it was my first experience to take a present, I know my parents' effort.

To Maiko

I was pure till 6th grade^ ^
Because my sister is in 4th grade, my house still comes Santa Claus♪So I get presents from Santa Claus every year☆

Monday, December 11, 2006

To Maiko

Me too. I was pure till 6th grade.(; ;)
What was worst is that my brother told me that our parents are Santa Claus!! He knew before than me...

☆X'mas plan☆

As many of you said, X'mas is not for only couples!! I was relieved(?) to know that☆☆

Of course, it will be great if I can spend a time with a lover(especially cool and rich) in X'mas. But in fact, I am going to have part-time job..........

Then I will work at juku almost every day( except for Sundays) during the winter vacation. Besides, the final exam and reports will come soon after ending the holidays!!!

Therefore I am not more looking forward to the winter vacation than the summer vacation..

Santa Claus!

Because of Mari's blog, I remember about him. In my house, I'd been given a present till 3rd grade at elementary school though we have no chimney. I made cookie for him every year. I "was" very pure thosedays....

To Kumiko

Kumiko, I think so too. It is not only for the couples... Besides I am going to spend the day with the girl's friends. I am going to enjoy the day!!
However Santa is not coming to my house anymore...><

☆Christmas☆

Some of you wrote about Christmas on blog and I also want to write about it.
I love christmas too because the atmosphere of towns and streets look very beautiful with a lot of illumination!
I feel very happy when I saw christmas trees with decorations every year.
By the way, do you know the house which is decorated very colorful and lightning at night?
The house stands on the way to Fuchinobe station from our school.
It's very very beautiful! So if you use Yokohama Line, please find this house!

Dear Mari

We went to Machida and ate a lot of cakes and fruits!!
It was very very nice!!! I am very glad to go with you and Mika.
I also enjoyed playing ice skating, thanks for getting me there. I really enjoyed it.
It was my first time to skate so I couldn't skate well...However, you helped me and I could enjoy skating, thank you very much!
I want to go playing with you.

To mari☆

Thank you for your response!! I was very happy.
I will take a walk with Malon♪
Though Malon tries to run away when she sees any dogs, but I will do my best!!
I want to see your dog's picture^ ^ Please show me!!

Christmas!!!!

I also think Christmas is not only for couples!!!!!! In my plan before I go to university, I would spend this day with my boyfriend, but fact is hard.......So I will spend Christmas my delusive boyfriend♪I have badminton's game 0n Christmas eve!! It's not official game, it's game inside my circle. I will do my best!!!

Christmas...

Yes!! Christmas is not only for couples but also all people. I don't have any plan on that day. I may play tennis with my friends or merry Christmas with my family. I haven't decide yet.
I read the book "A Christmas Carol" for my book report. This book is really good!! So if you have a chance, please try to read "A Christmas Carol." It is sure that you feel happy on Christmas day.

To Hiroki

you stopped believing when you were six?? I used to believe in Santa Claus until I was 9 years old!! I thought he existed for real. I still remember that I was too excited to sleep the night before Christmas and wondering what I would get. Althuogh it sounds stupid now, that was a happy memory. But I think kids these days tend not to believe in Santa Claus anymore. Maybe it's because Santa Claus is everywhere!! I don' t think the commercialization of the icon is good, which I believe makes Santa Claus unrealistic. Actually I really want more kids to believe in Santa!! Like you said, he gives children not only a present but also a dream!!!Besides, I think it's good to believe something.

Christmas♪

Kumiko, I have same opinion as you!!! Christmas is not only for couples!! This year, I have work for few hours and after it I'll spend Christmas with girls. I don't think that's not bad thing. Butmany people say that's very pity. But I don't mind and I'll enjoy my Christmas♪

Christmas

Kumiko, Christmas is coming soon. I'm glad to read your words about Christmas. Exactly it's not only for couples. I wish I would spend the day with my lover, however it's great to hold a party with friends or family. I don't have any plan now. Maybe I have to work almost everyday during winter vacation.

Christmas is coming!!

Yes it's just around the corner. The city is illuminated for Christmas and now everyone is in Christmas mood!! So, what is everyone doing for Christmas?? I actually don't know what I'm going to do exactly but I have to work a little bit, which is kind of miserable but if I work on Christmas, I will get 1400yen an hour so I can't complain. But I was just wondering....Since when did Christmas become a day for couples??? Don't you think it's weird?? Christmas is not a romantic thing, right? But it's the biggest event for couples now. I'm not saying it's bad or anything, I just thought people in other countries tend to spend time with families and relax at home(I'm not sure about it though). Is it only in Japan??? Well, I guess the illumination is very beautiful so maybe couples can get in a romantic mood. Maybe that's why!!
Anyway I hope everyone will have a great Christmas this year!!!!!

Biography...?

Christmas is coming, so I want to write about Santa Claus.
The name of Santa Clause derives from St. Nicholas who was a bishop in the east Roman Empire. Then, it is said that Santa Clause started to give presents to children in 19th century in America. In Japan, Santa Clause appeared in 1874.(Accoding to wikipedia)
In my experiences, the magic of Santa Clause disappeared when I was six years old. Exactly saying, I saw him accidentally when I was about to sleep. I didn't have a shock so much because I was vaguely aware of the identity of Santa Clause.
I think Santa Clause is a great person because he gives children not only a present but also a dream. Besides, Christmas is a good chance to cultivate family bond and human relationship. Don't you think so?

Pet Clothes...Hum...

Thanks for your comment, Akiko!!
Also, it was good for me to know your opinion, Hiroki!!

Yes, as you said, pets actually don't need clothes. Clothes or accessory are uncomfortable for pets. But, the masters(飼い主) would not do it spitefully(意地悪に). Because they love their pets, they may take care of their pets too much. Then, I don't completely contradict to dress a pet, but the masters need to consider about this matter.

By the way, it's getting colder. So, it is a good idea to give a pet some more cushion,Hiroki!!
She will surely be happy at your present☆☆

Today

Today I went to the dessert viking(ケーキ食べ放題) at the Machida with Mika and Mai. It was delicious and we ate lots!! Especially Mai ate many pineapples!!(^^) She likes pineapples. The customer was only our group so we ate as much as we could. We laughted and ate so much that my stress disappeared. It was the wonderful day. I want to go there with IE members next time. However I am worried about my weight... I think I took high calories...

To masato

Thank you for your response.
I also have never kept pets in my life because I have asthma. So I didn't allow to have pets. But now I really want to keep pets to relax, feel warm and happy, and promote relationship between animals. If I decide to keep pets, I hope to have a small dog. There is no special reason but I like small dogs.
As you said, the time with pets is very very precious. People remember the time forever.

About pets

I also think pets don't need to wear clothes as Akiko said. I think it's inconvenient for the pets and there is a possibility that they cannot come to maintain thier health. Although I have a dog, I have never thought that I want to make my dog wear clothes. But, it becomes cold recently. My dog is nine years old and she live outside, so she always seems cold when I see her in the evening. I don't want to make my dog wear clothes, but I want to give her some more cushion.

To Mika

Mika, I like toy poodle, too!! I like brown one especially.

Today I and my parents went to a supermarket. There were many cans of pet food and my father said that they are like cans of tuna- of course for human.

Some say clothes for pets are good because they looks cute but others doesn't because they are uncomfortable and making pets to wear them is egoism.

I don't think pets need clothes but I can't say people shouldn't make their pets to wear clothes because it's true that they love their pets....

☆Pets☆

I enjoyed reading your blogs about pets♪ Many of you have dogs, and you love them a lot!!

As for me, I have never had any pets, because my mother hate animals.........but someday, I want to have toy poodle. It is so cute, isn't it??

By the way, I often see a dogs wearing clothes or accessories!! Also, there are foods which looks like human foods such as cake and cookies. I wonder if I had a pet, I would buy these goods for it ........

My pet

Now let me talk about my bird, Yuki.

She (or He?) came to my father's office in Tokyo six years ago and my father brought her to my house. We were really surprised at this event but she was cute so I was glad. My mother named her '幸' ( this letter means happiness) because the light yellow of her feather makes us happy.

May be she is very old now but she is so cheerful that we are encouraged. I want to be with her forever.

Thank you.

To Chisumi

Did you also have pets?? I really understand the good of dog. My dog's name is Asuka, and she is very cute and faithful. Whenever I call her, she comes to me everywhere she is. Even if she is sleeping, she comes with her eyes red!! I really love her♡And she and my cat are also good friends. Although they are different animals, it seems that they understand each others feeling.

♡She is wearing an diaper(おむつ)♡

Pets...

I read your blogs and I found some of you have or have had pets and it seems that you had a very good time with your pets. Although I like animals such as dogs and cats, I have never kept the animals. I think the time we spend on with our pets is a precious and heart-warming time for us. Because I live in the apartment house, I am not allowed to keep the pets now, but I want to realize someday if I have a chance.

My dog

Some of you talk about your pets, so I want to talk about dog I have had. Her name is マーフィ-. We had her when I was in a preschooll. She was so cute and kind. She probably thought that she is older sister of me. When I cried, she came to comfort me. When I came home, she came to meet me gladly. She died when I was a junior high school student. I was so sad and cried for many days. I was shocked at her death, but I was given much more from her. She gave me ease and a lot of love♡

☆Thanks, Yuka☆

Thank you for commenting, Yuka!!(^^)

Yes, teaching is really hard work and need tough mind. I always feel the difficulty of teaching. But, when my student said " My score of the test rose higher than before!!!", I was so happy☆

Then, my teaching skill is not enough yet, I try to communicate with children friendly and teach clearly from now on☆★

Doing Great

Thanks to everyone for interesting posts. Yes, put in pictures of dogs (Pasoli, Marron, etc.) and pets and grandmothers. . . we want to see them!

If you are interested in the idea of "picture brides", the movie Picture Bride, starring Yuuki Kudou is very good.

I look forward to tomorrow and your reports but I may be just a few minutes late. I have a very hard schedule across town tomorrow and may have trouble getting there quickly. Please make groups of five and begin presenting your work to each other. I WILL be there . . . don't worry. Please spread the word to all students on this.

Thank you so much. You guys are progressing well and are really a wonderful class. Keep up the good work just a bit more. Take care and . . . blog on!

Obaachan

I don't think I could understand about the story correctly, but I felt many things while I was watching the movie.
The most impressive scene about it was the scene that Obaachan and her daughter could meet and hug each other. I was very moved and felt happy.
I wish the day will come when I will be able to understsnd all about the movie and feel something.

Dear Mari ♪

I know you love Pasing very very much.
In my schedule note book, there is Pasing which you wrote...Yes, it's very cute I thing.
I also have a dog in my hometown, Shizuoka.

I believe that if we love them much, they also love us very much too.
So we have to cherish them as one of our family.

To Yukiko

I like my grandmother, too as some of you said. I heard that my grandmother always cares about me because I live on my own in Fuchinobe now aparting from my family to go here Aoyamagakuin University. I was grateful to her to hear that. In addition, she is very kind to me, so I want her to live to a great age !!

Thank you ♪

Thank you for your comments. I'm very happy!! Obaachan is a great and an important person for us. Obaachan has a lot of knowledge and experiences, and tells us important things of life.
I hope that Obaachan lives enjoyably and keeps smiling☆ I like Obaachan very much!!!

Dear Akiko ☆

Hi, you had a nice day yesterday.
I was very busy yesterday because I have not finished reading the book of book report which is due tomorrow...And I also had a schedule of going concert at night.
I have to typing today so I am very nervous now...

However that concert was very wonderful so I felt very comfortable and relaxed.
If I have the time to go Enosima, I do want to go!!

To Ryoko

Malon is very cute name★ My dog, Pasing couldn't make dog's friend at first too. However, I took the walk often and made the opprtunity to meet with many kinds of dog. I found that Pasing doesn't like big dogs but she likes small dogs as toy poodle. She made the friends little by little. I also got the friends too. I think to take the walk often is good to make the friend. I hope Malon could make the friends of the dogs too★

About Obaathan

I also thought that Obaathan is sometimes too negative.
However, if I were in her situation (taken away her children from her mother), I must be very sad too.
It is ridiculous that they couldn't marry their love in those days.
I couldn't endure this old climate.

To Mami Wakabayashi

I want to see your third cat☆ Is three cats same type? (^^) I guess your family love cats strongly!! It is really sad to lose someone. However, I think by encountering the death of precious people would make people more stronger than before. What is your name of the cat? (^^) I think your family got over from the death of your cats. Let's talk about our pet next time★

Teaching someone...

Mika, teaching someone is very difficult, isn't it? I've never been a teacher, but I had some experiences to teach something to my friends at school and at the work place. I couldn't make them understand clearly, so I think a teacher is a hard work. You seem to work so often. I hope you can do your best.

Yesterday

Yesterday I had no class so I met my friend who is one of the member of my circle. We went to Enoshima. We visited a shrine, ate sea food and play at the sea. It was a exiting day.

In winter, the sea of Enoshima is quiet and beautiful so if you have an opportunity please visit there.

To Yukiko

Now, I'm living with my grandmother. We sometimes don't agree about life. I think it cannot help diagreeing each other because we have the generation gap. She is about 50 years older that I am. We sometimes argue, but I like her very much because she is so kind and always thinking of me. So I want to venerate(大切にする) her♡

☆Teacher☆

I was surprised that many of the classmate had great teachers!! I envy you, because I didn't have such person.

When I was a junior high school student and high school student, I didn't like teachers. Because most of my teachers were passional. Besides, when I asked the question, some teachers said "You can't solve the easy question like this??!" I was shoked and became hating them.

But now, I understood their feeling a little. I am a juku teacher( part-time job), and I teached children. Some of them don't listen me seriously and often say " I can't solve!! I don't want to study!" easily. I tried to teach again patiently, but sometimes I am irritated it. I teach one or two students at one time. On the other hand, school teacher do it about 40 students for one lesson. It is surely hard. I didn't realized this hardness.

If anyone want to be a teacher in the future, please remember teacher is a hard but callenging(やりがいのある)job!!!

Obaachan's garden

As many of the classmate said, Obaachan is very strong woman.

Those days, women hadn't had the proper right yet. But however hard the adversities were, Obaachan struggled to live strongly. She tried to change her disteny. If I were her, I would give up what I really wanted to do.

Obaachan lived a stormy life(波乱万丈), and I guess the war made her life like this. Of courese not only Obbachan but also many people experienced tragedy because of the war. Not to repeat the experience like Obaachan, we should never forget the war and try not to occur it.

To Yukiko

My grandmother does volunteer. I also respect my grandmother, and I want to be a person like my grandmother. She has many hobbies and she also plays piano.
I have been playing piano since I was 3 years old. I still go piano lessons sometimes. It's very enjoyable time and refreshing time♪

To Mari♪

I was really moved by reading your blog!!!!!It was very good experiment, wasn't it??
I also have dog in my house. Her name is Malon♪She is very cute.
However, since she is very shy, she has no friends.......

Obaachan's garden

As you said, this movie was great and impressive. I think Obaachan was very brave because she went abroad, Canada alone 80 years ago. But I suppose she felt strong anxiety for her life on her mind. Although she had to overcame a lot of hardship, I'm happy she could meet her two children finally.

To Mari

Your blog made my heart warm. What wonderful experience you have!! I love animals very much especially the dog and the cat. My family have them and I have been grown up with cat since I was born. I played and fought with him many times. We were good friend, so I can understood his feeling. I really loved him, but he died when I was 7 years old. I cried and cried, finally I didn't go to school that day and next day. It was my first experience to face death.

Now, my family have the third cat. I love him♡ He also gave me comfort.

To Yukiko

I don't know very well, but my grandmother has been playing the shemisen for a long time. She is so challenging that she tries to take the skill examinations now. She is still studying. By the way, I also learned to play the piano. I quit it when I was a junior high school, so I cannot play any more...

To Mari and Yuka

Thank you for your responses.
Mari, my first experience of people's death is my grandfather's death. He died six years ago. When I heard the fact from my mother, I couldn't believe it and cried very much. I was very sad because I liked him.
Please show me Pasing's photos someday!! I really want to see Pasing.

Yuka, your grandmother plays shamisen? I have never played shamisen. Have you ever played shamisen? It seems to be very difficult for me. I played piano for a long time. About ten years. However, I couldn't play it well but I enjoyed it!! I respect your grandmother for continuing shamisen for a long time. It is wonderful!!

Precious person

Yukiko, I also like and respect my grandmother. She is always busy because she often goes out with her friends and plays the shamisen as a hobby. Her active life encourages me.

Mari, Pasing seems to be really precious for you. When you showed me her picture, I thought she was cute and I understood you like her very much again.

Biography

I am going to talk about the theme "biography" of my dog named Pasing. She is so cute!! Her father is the Maltese dog and her mother is the toy poodle dog. I met her when I was in the Philippines. At that time, I couldn't make friends because I couldn't speak English at all. She was the first friend I made at the Phillippines. Thanks to Pasing, I was able to make many friends from her. She was the charmer(人気者). She has curly tale and soft white hair with cute big eye. I think she knows lots about me. I also know her lots about her as her first love and so on. Now, she is already 9 years old but she is still one of my bestfriends!!

Obaachan's garden

I thought she just lived in a hard time. I felt that she was poor because she lost her husband and had to left her children in Japan. If I were in her position, I would become lethargic and it take long time to understand the reality. At this point, I thought she was positive and brave. Even though she encountered some tragedy, she didn't yield them, so she could meet her children again, I thought.
I also felt the war was tragic. Millions of people who spend a happy life were involved the war and died. I thought we have never occured such tragedy again!

To Yukiko

I like my grandmother too. She was also brave woman as obaachan. However, she died when I was 12 years old by the cancer. Till then I couldn't believe she was dead. I thought she would become alive... It was the first time, I encountered the people's death. I liked my obbachan very much!! She was very kind and could do anything. Sometimes she made my kimono and cloths. She knew lots of plays which she played when she was young. Many year have passed from my grandmother's death but I sometimes think about my grandmother and I think she is always with me looking kindly from the heaven.

Obaachan's garden

I also think she was a great obaachan. Canada is very far from Japan, so she was lonely. However, she lived very strongly and overcame her negative feelings. If I were her, I couldn't have lived like her, so I respect her.
My grandmother is very kind. As she experienced the World WarⅡ, she still hates China. She was told by her teacher that China was a bad country. I can't say anything about this, but I like China. I study Chinese now and I want to go to China someday.
How is your grandmother?

About Obaachan's garden

It was a interesting document. I also think she is a very brave, and cheerful women as some of you said. In those days, it was hard to go abroad alone. I suppose she felt great loneliness and worried about her future. I impressed so much at the scene she could met her children left in Japan! She always concerned about them, so I was glad then, too♡

Obaachan.

I was also impressed by Obaachan's garden. When I watched it, I remembered my grandmother. She was very clever and kind to me. She was good at making flower by using clay and has a skill of art. She also has heavy experiences when she was young about her home. That era, they didn't have enough food and a right to get married freely. But that experiences made her stronger, I think.
Now she died. However, she gave me my name so I treasure it forever.

Obaachan's garden

I was also impressed by this movie. I think that obaachan was brave, too. And I thought about children who parted from obaachan. I can't think that I have to part from my mother. So I think that children ached so much. I'm happy to know that they met finally♡

Obaachan's garden

I felt interesting about the movie, its a precious record I think. But I also felt Obaachan was sometimes too negative. She often said "I was not happy." I can't know her real pain, however, if I were her family, I would feel very sad to hear that.

Obaachan

Obaachan's Garden was great movie. It was interesting story. She is very brave woman as Dr. Armstrong said. I couldn't believe that she went abroad more than 80 years ago and stayed there. Her power showed how she was beaten down by divorcing and parting from her two children, I think.
I'm very sorry to hear that she has died in 2002.

My teacher.

Everyone writes about good teacher. It is very happy to meet such good person.
My good teacher is my Japanese history teacher in high school. I love him! I dreamed about him one day, so I became like him overnight. He was very kind such as he listened my trouble constantly. But, he was always strict and reticent. His behavior and words impressed me anytime. We enjoyed taking with Japanese history, World history and trivial tale after school. I was taught a lot of things by him. I like and respect him. I am happy to meet him.

To Maiko

You met a great teacher too! Teachers of kindergarten are important for children because they are the first teacher for them, I think. "Do not do to other people what you feel uncomfortable to be done." is very difficult. I will try it!

Thank you for answering my question!!

Thank you for your comment! Many of you had a good experience as the same of mine.
I think there are many things we can learn around our life. Especially, human relationships sometimes give us a important lesson. I want to meet various people, and learn a variety of things little by little.

To Mami

I respect my kindergarten teacher too! She was very kind and I loved her so much. She always said the simple thing, "Do not do to other people what you feel uncomfortable to be done." It is basic order, but very difficult. I'm trying to keep this in mind now on.

Great Teacher

Many of you write about a good teacher. So I want to write too.
One of my teachers who I can respect was my kindergarten teacher. Of cause I was very little so I don't remember very much, but she was very impressive person. She was very very strict, unlike another class' teacher. I always envied the children at another class. However, now I can feel that her way to teach was good for me. There were good strain. I could be ready to be a schoolchild.

I heard that she has retired from the kindergarten long time before because of marriage. I think she became a good mother.

To Hiroki

I think you had a great teacher!!
In my case, I respect the teacher when I was a high school student. He was a teacher of math and manager of our grade. He was very kind and we got to talk about various thing. When I was a freshman, I was worried about various thing and I had thought I want to leave the school. Then, he noticed my change and guided me. Though he was very busy, he always listened to my worry. Each time I cried in front of him, he comforted me kindly. I had felt that he was like my father. By grace of him, I could enjoy my school days. I'm most thankful to him.

To Hiroki

I think your coach was great and respectable !!
In my case, when I was a highschool student, I belong the tennis club and my coach was very good like Hiroki's coach. Although he was fifty years old, he played tennis very well and he sometimes defeated us highschool students in tennis match !!!! It was amazing ! From his lesson, I learned a lot of things. He still plays tennis actively now. He is the person whom I respect.

You met the great person!! I think he will become the 師匠 to you(^^)
Talking about me, I respect the teacher on the juku, who took care of me last year on the entrance examination for the university. I disliked the English before I met her. However she made me an extra homework because I couldn't catch up the class I was taking. She taught me until I undestand. Sometimes I had the private lesson from her for 2 hours!! Sometimes we went to eat the dinner. From her personality and willingness, little by little, I became to like English. Now, thanks to her, I am majoring the English★

I think your coach was wonderful coach!!
When I was a high school student, I joined cheerleading club. This club has very severe coach too. Alumnae of my club come everyday, and they teach us very strictly. It was so hard that I thought I want to give up joining this club, but I could learn how to cooperate and importance of friends.
I don't continue cheerleading, but I play badminton now. I recollect y severe coach when I play badminton two on two.

I also like YUKI and her song including when she sang as a singer of JUDY AND MARY!! Her voice is very cute♡ I used to listen her song when I was junior high school students. So her song reminds me of the memory of junior highs cool.

I talk about one of my favorite singer, MARIAH CAREY. Maybe all you know her and her song!! Every X’mas season, we often hear her song which title is “All I WANT FOR CHIRSTMAS IS YOU”. She is originally a singer of gospel and she has been singing since she was young. Her home is poor and in fact, she is half WHITE and BLACK. So she was discriminated against neighborhood. She is neither WHITE nor BLACK, but she didn’t yield. She has strong spirits and like singing a song very much. I really respect her and love her song♡ She is real singer. I’d like you to listen her song.

However he taught me a pleasure of math, he is different from other teachers I met before.
He told us not to remember or calculate the problem on the paper and told us to enjoy it ...

I have a dream to be a teacher and I want my students learn with pleasure.

I wrote my respect person this time, but is this biography?

Biography about YUKI♡

I want to write about YUKI. She is Japanese singer. She is one of my favorite singer. She used to belong to the group JUDY AND MARY and now she is working by herself. I like her song and fashion and cute face, but not only these things the reason why I like her. Last year, she lost her son. When I had known that news, I cried so much. YUKI is always smiling so cute and singing so happily. Loosing her son must be so heavy accident and sorrowful thing, but she didn't show her sad feelings when she appeared on TV at that time. She sang powerfully as usual. I was impressed with her strength and came to like much more!!!!I want to be like her very much, but it's too difficult thing!
She became pregnant again and now she has son again!!!! I hope her happy life will contuinue forever♡And I want to become happy like her♡

To Mami

I also haven't know about Ms. Barbara Lee and I respect her, too.
Oh! You watched the movie "otokotati-no-yamato"?? I want to watch it. Recently, the film "Flags of Our Fathers" (父親たちの星条旗) is screened. It is also about war. I want to watch it, too. We studied about war in the class of history. But we don't understand the war indeed. So I should learn about war even from the movie.

To maiko

I haven't known about Ms. Barbara and her great action until now. 9.11 is the most important day and we must not forget this tragedy. I really respect a woman who have own mind and strong spirit like Ms.Barbara.
For Japan, 8.6 and 8.9 is the day of atomic bomb. Its damage is terrible. Recently I watched Japanese movie and the title is "Otokotati-no-yamayo(男たちの大和)" I strongly recommend it for you. Whenever I watch it, I am moved to tears.

Biography(?)

Have you ever heard of Ms. Barbara Lee? She was a congress woman. I'm sorry I don't know she is still continuing, but in 2001, she was.
I'm sure that you all know what happened on September 11 in 2001. Yes, a national tragedy strack the United States of America. After that, most people supported taking military action against terrorism. Nearly All Congress members supported this action. But only she, Ms. Barbara Lee, took objection. After that, some malicious people criticize her, but she never change her mind.
Now on, America is doing war. But I think her action somhow make sense. At least, I respect her for her breve dicision and learn that minority opinion are also needed.

☆Biography☆

I was surprised that many classmates learned Japanese culture!!But I'm sorry I didn't do it.....Then, I want to talk about my biography.

I belonged in a ESS club when I was a junior high school student and a high school student(for 6 years!!). Our club activitiy is playing a drama(演劇) in English. Then, we played such as "Sound of Music"and "Pretty Princess" in school festival!

When I was a 1st grade of junior high school, it was so hard for me to memorize the line(セリフ) because I even didn't know English much. In addition, we had to attend a club at least 3 times a week. My older person was so strict, so I sometimes thought to give up.......

But, spoken English attracted me a lot. It seemed to be different from the grammer(文法) which we learned in the classroom. Thanks for it, I begant to like English little by little.

Now that I don't belong to ESS club in this university. But, the memory of the club activity for 6 years is very precious for me still now!!

Biography

Many of you wrote about Japanese culture! So I'd like to think it, too. I learned calligraphy in my childhood, and it was my favorite time. It always made me feel steady and calm. I want to try again if I have a chance. Moreover, I also belonged to Naginata club when I was a junior high school student. Do you know Naginata?? I think it's a rare sport even in Japan.. It is very similar to Kendo, but we used the sword(?) which is 2 meters long. I could learn a law of etiquette by playing Naginata

To Yuka

I am interested in your newspaper☆
What are you going to write?
I want to read it.
I am looking forward to reading newspaper.
I can't wait until spring!!(><)

Sadako Ogata

I respect Sadako Ogata. Do you know her? Though I respect her, I don't know in details... She works for the poor and her international contribution is remarkable. I had a chance to listen her lecture at Sophia University last year. She told about her life and the situation what was happening at that time. I was impressed by her lecture. I wish I could be a person like her. I want to work for the world.

Thank you!!

Biography

Now I want to talk about my favorite author Eimi Yamada.

When she was a juniour high school student, she often listened to soul music and read many novels written by black authors so in many novels she wrote such as 'I am beat', 'ジェシーの背骨', there are blacks. She has written not only about love but also many problems of society. In 'PAY DAY!!!!!', she wrote about a girl (and her family) who had had killed her mother by 9.11.

I like her way to write because it is very natural and expresses real emotion of the characters.
I recommend all of her works so why don't you try them??

So cute♪

Yesterday, I went to Seikei university with Kumiko to see Rinka's talk show!!! We quaued to get the ticket at 9 o'clock in the morning! Once each other went back home and afternoon we went to the university again. We ate Okonomiyaki. The student who making it was like professional of okonomkyaki! He was so sukillful! But taste of it was so so...
As the time approached to start the talk show, I became so excited. Our seat was slanting from the stage, so I was very anxious that we can see her well.
But that's no problem. We can saw her cleary from the seat, and she's soooo cute!!!!!! I came to like her much more☆
Do you like Rinka??

"Sagamachi"

I join a local committee to edit "Sagamachi" as a volunteer. This is a kind of free newspaper about the two towns, Sagamihara and Machida. The editional conference takes place once a week. It's enjoyable because we can talk with other university students and officials. We focus on the people who are active in the towns. In short, we are going to cover their biographies for the newspaper. It will be published in spring next year, please read it if you have a chance(^^)

I also think learning Japanese culture is significant, as Yukiko said.
I learned calligraphy when I was a elementary student, but I didn't like it. I didn't have calm mind. However, I could learn concentration through learning calligraohy. Although I retired from learning calligraohy, I had a valuable experience, I think.
I also played playing card(Karuta). I think it is one of the Japanese tradditional plays. In Saitama, there is a local Karuta which is called Saitama Kyoudo Karuta. I was elected a representative of my area. I didn't win the game, but I enjoyed it.
I think there are a lot of Japanese culture which I haven't known yet, so I want to have good experiences and learn more Japanese culture.

☆Mita Festival☆

I went to Mita Festival with my friend today!

There were a lot op people in Keio University. We ate fried ice cream, takoyaki, soup and so on!!Then, we went to see the double douch show, because my friend would be on the stage♪♪Double douch is a performance. People use 2 ropes and jump. It looks high level rope skipping(縄跳び) My friend has not practiced it for a long time, but she played very well!!

Then I had a good time, and Iwant to go Mita Festival next year♪

Biography...

As Yukiko says, I think knowing Japanese culture is very important.
I joined Sado club when I was a junior high school student. I lived in Germany at that time, so I had many chances to communicate with German people. They asked many questions about Japanese culture. I can't answer to their questions. So I decided to join Sado club and learn about Japanese culture♪I don't do Sado now, but I want to do it again to know Japanese culture. I also want to do Karate!!

Samuidesune

Today is also cold! But I am going to go to enjoy playing with my friend♡Such a cold weather is good for me because the heat of Tokyo makes me tired…I can't put up with it!!!!

As Yukiko said, I also learned Japanese culture when I was young. I learned calligraphy(書道), powdered green tea, and kendo. And I played koto a little. My mother is a woman ripe with experience. She knows several kinds of things so I think she wanted me to do same things. She is the one of the most respectable woman for me. I want to get many experiences actively because nobody knows where such experiences are useful.

Dear Chisumi, Asako and Megumi.

Chisumi, I haven't read "Tokyo Tower" yet, but I sometimes watch him in TV. He is an attractive person, I think. I heard that the story will put on the air as a movie and a drama soon. I want to read his book and wacth them.

Asako, have you got better? Recently it's getting much colder. Take care of youself.

Megumi, I'm afraid I couldn't send you e-mail on Friday. You were absent from the class. Did you catch a cold?

Biography

Hi! I want to write about my geography. I was a very active girl when I was a child. I was interested in many things and I wanted to do everything as possible. So I took part in many kinds of events and got precious experiences. For example, how to make green tea(抹茶). Through those events, I could learn and feel Japanese culture naturally. I think it is very important because when we meet foreigners and are asked about Japanese culture, some Japanese can't answer the questions. So we Japanese should know Japanese culture not only at the present but also in the past. I don't know all of Japanese culture, so I want to know to be able to answer for foreigners.

Lily Franky

Did you read the book "tokyo tower" that Lily Franky wrote? I was greatly touched by this book. I had known him through TV. Before I read "tokyo tower", I didn't have good image of him. But after I read it, his image changed completely!! I was touched by his love to his mother. If you haven't read it yet, please read it. You will be able to know his life.

Red Jersey

I am sorry to write not to do with the biography...

I am founding the red jersey!! Is there anyone who have one?? I want to borrow if possible. I am going to do "ごくせんのヤンクミ" in the tournament... It is "新人戦" and I have to do something strange...
If there anyone who have it, please please please rent me!!(><)
Thank you for reading.

Biography

Today's class has just finished. I'm going to write now before I'll forget about what I want to tell you. I'm talking about a girl whom I met yesterday at the club activities. She is a Japanese, but she born in a foreign country and lived there for a long time. So she hadn't been to Japan since she was 18 years old. She said her first impression of Japan was really bad. She hated Japan very much! However she tried to understand Japanese culture little by little as she was living here. She got to take it, and now one of her dreams is to build a rice-ball shop in New York!! I'm glad to hear her dream because I like Japan. Don't you think that's wonderful, do you?

Today is really cold... I haven't worn so warmly.
Thank you.

Discuss!!

To Mami
If parents give children a chance to discuss・・・I couldn't think of that!! It's a good idea!! TV has a lot of bad points. But if we change the bad points into good points, we can get along with TV♡ Thank you Mami♡

Violence on TV

I think the violence scenes are not good for children too. Children today can see bad news easily. It may effect them badly. The increase of the number of children's crime is very sad...
But if their parents give children a chance to discuss about the news, it is good experience for them, I think. Many families watch TV during they eating. They should use the time effectively.

TV

I also rarely watch TV because I don't have enough time to watch it. TV has a lot of bad points like you said. It sometimes has a bad influence on people. But I can't say that all of TV is bad. For example, it has video drama and documentary about people who are confronted with serious sickness. Through this program, I can know that there are such a serious sickness in the world and think that life is precious. TV has some bad points, but it also has good points like this.

To Masato

I think the system is problem.
NHK should have the system which make us be able to choose to take NHK or not.
I didn't cared the system seriously, because I live with my parents, and then they pay money for NHK.
It is hard for you to pay it,isn't it?
If I live alone, I don't want to pay it .

TV☆

I think TV has good points and bad points, like all said.
When I was a junior high school and high school student, I like to watch TV very much.
Because almost all friends watched TV and then, we often talk about TV program.
But, now I hardly watch it, because I don't have enough time to do, and interest in TV slowly dropped off.
I use TV for knowing society.
TV can give us many information in a short time.It is very good for me.

TV

I also think watching TV too much is bad for health and waste time.
But, I have a different opinion about violence scene.
Actually, some programs include violence scene. However, I don't think such scene is bad for children completely. By seeing such scene, some children feel that violence is not good. At least I felt so. In a word, it depends on watchers' view.

um....

Today, official from NHK came to my house to collect charge for NHK's TV program. We have to pay money to NHK just because there is TV in our house regardless of whether watching NHK's program or not. So I payed money reluctantly although I rarely watch it. I don't agree with this system......

TV

Although TV has some bad effects, I think it has some merits, too. One of the good points of TV is its convenience and speed. Watching TV and getting information are easier and faster than reading newspaper and getting it. For busy people as us university students, this merit is useful.

To Mai

Yes, searching useful TV program is very important thing for us all! I sometimes watch violence scene on TV which have a bad effect on our mental. TV always gives us many information. However, we should choose what we really need. I think we must be wise audience of TV!! Moreover I also concern with the health problems. I suppose watching TV for a long time is one of the bad habit of people today. Some children watch TV almost all day instead of playing outside. I can't believe this... It may threaten their health in future.

Media

Here, I want focus on TV programs, especially about news. Some people has already mentioned that media are not always giving us the true information. That's one of the dangerous. And one more, on TV, they use real names when they referring to suspects. In actual, 40% of the suspects won't go to court. But the suspects themselves and their families have to face lives of being scorned. In case, suicide in such case is not rare. I want media to think what would happen. Media, especially TV, has a very big power.

Dear Kumiko

I'm interseted in your topic Kumiko. As you said, we all have stereotypes. I think it strongly connect with our way of thinking. About Tokyo and Osaka, as Kumiko mentioned, people living there are tend to have particular nature. People are always influence by the people around them, so maybe it's natural. Well, I understand that it's just about possibility, not all the time.

About TV

Now, I want to talk about the differences between TV and newspaper.

First, when we are watching TV, we can't move or do other things. On the other hand, we can read newspaper in a train or when we walking. We can read newspaper in very short time and we don't waste time. But when we watch TV, we don't move from in front of TV and don't think about other things.

Second, almost all of articles on newspaper are about business, government, market data or sport and there are little stupid things. But on TV, there is much stupid, cruel and not useful information.

There may be more differences between them but I can't find. Well, what should we do to go along with TV? One day we will be father or mother but which should we recommend to our children?

Parents shouldn't allow children to watch TV too much because it will have a bad influence upon their health and children can't judge whether the imformation is good. But now we can judge so TV is good for us, I think.

Addition...

I told you that picking up nice TV program is good, but we have to take care for not to watching it too much. I heard that TV radiate a lot of radiation...It is bad for our brain and eyes.
So that if we watch TV, we consider the influence!!
I think no TV is better for health than us who have it.

About TV

I thing TV is very useful if we use it for getting recent news or study such as " Let's play with English!" presented by NHK.
I know many TV program sometimes have some violence or sexual thing and it is very bad for people especially for children.
However I think it is nice to pick up programs which you think it is good for you.
Sorry Dr.Armstrong, I don't think TV itself is not so bad for people because I can catch a lot of news by TV in the morning.
How about searching a good TV program which always not contain bad action such as violence.

Dear Mari☆

Hi, I've never seen the movie, Tada kimidakewo aisiteru, yet.
However I want to see it since I read your blog.
I think the kind of love is different from each other...But, indeed, I don't think about love seriously yet...Sorry.
However I believe that love is wonderful !!!!

By the way, talking of love, how do you spend your christmas holiday ??
My friend will spend the day with her boy friend but I don't have the one who want to spend with me !!
So I just feel sad...

Geography of TV

I think watching TV too much is bad influence on people. However, watching TV is also able to use the way to relax. For me, I don't have time to watch TV on week days, but when I'm too tired to do something, I sometimes watch TV to take a rest.
However, TV brings bad influence to children. For example, a lot of suicides of students happened. This expanded by picked up news, I think. So TV has great influence on people.

Geography of TV

I've just read your blogs about TV. I see that each has different ideas. Recently TV seems to be indispensable for almost Japanese people's lives. There are many kinds of TV programs. Some of them are not very sensible, however from my point of view, it's not bad to watch TV for one or two hours as an entertainment. Though I don't like TV very much, I sometimes watch dramas and the scenery on TV. Then news can give you various information with pictures. You must not put watching TV to the central part of your life because watching too much will hurt your eyes.

About TV

I think TV is one of the biggest mass media which influence many people. We can get much information easily from a large variety of TV programs. But TV has a lot of violent aspects in each programs such as drama, news program and entertainment program, for example. According to a survey, the program which contains violence the most is animated program. I'm very surprised to know that.

TV

TV is a potential time-waster. We can watch many channels. So, it is possible to sit down near the TV and watch TV always. But, It is freedom to watch or not. We should remember that every report is not right. we should choose useful channel from many kinds of channels. It is important that when we see some potential programs, we decide to stop watching. I want to watch TV cleverly.

About TV

I also think whether TV is good or not depends on how to see it. TV is a good tool for us to get information, especially news, and we can know the incidents all over the world through the images. It's important for us. If we heard an affair, we might not think it seriously. However, we can think seriously by seeing images. (In my case, I had a big impact when I saw the image of 9.11. If I only heard it, I wouldn't have believed it.) Although all information are not always reliable, we can think events for real through TV.

I think also TV reflects the climate of our society in some degree because producers are also living our time, and make programs to have many people seen. If there are many entertainment programs now, it says that a lot of people want to see those. I think TV is a kind of each country's culture.

Geography of TV

Thinking about the geography of TV, there are many kinds of channels. News, drama, entertainment, educational television, fiction... They all have each good and bad characteristic. I can't say TV is bad thing. From the TV, I learned many things. For instance, the reality of life. I could see this kind of thing forms drama, movie and news. I think TV makes us know more about the world and could broaden our horizons.
However, I also think seeing TV too much is not good. Now I am so busy that I don't have time to watch TV... Maybe I missed many TV channels... I think it is good to check the TV newspaper and decide which channel to watch. In order not to watch the TV too much☆

geography..?

I was just wondering the connection between people and land. I don't know if it's a "geography" topic or not but well...let's see. You know Tokyo and Osaka are two main cities in Japan and generally it is often said that people in Tokyo are conservative and cool while people in Osaka are open-minded and funny. Is it really true?? People's personality changes depending on where they live?? I don't know. But to tell the truth, I often stereotype people. I think many people do it as well. We have stereotypes about people in other countries, too like "Americans are friendly, Japanese are smart." or something like that. Maybe it's not completely wrong but actually those are just images. People are all different. We just tend to judge people without knowing them truly. But I still believe that there are cultural or historical backgrounds which make their individuality. I’m from Tokyo and actually I’m not funny and I’m kind of a cold person and I’m not open-minded at all!!! Oh it makes sense!! Tokyo is a big city. I don’t have to socialize with people. That’s why?? Well… maybe this matter is more complicated so I don't really know. Sorry I can't conclude this post!!Ⅰ definitely need to study it more so I'll stop it here today but anyway this is just what I thought.

About TV

I also think some TV programs have a bad influence on people, especially children. But, as many of the classmates said, all of them are not bad.

The other day, I saw a TV drama location accidently near my house at night. The young actor, Yuta Hiraoka, acted with cool beer in a cold wind. The scene was only about 5 minutes, but the director adviced him and took it again and again. Of course not only the actor or the director, but also the staff such as gaffer(照明), makeup assistants and cameraman struggled to do their best. I didn't know that one scene of TV program was created by the passion or effort of many people for one scene.

Once I saw it, I can't say all TV programs are silly. The choice depends on us. But I will keep in mind the endeavor of the executor.

I think...

As asako said, I also don't have enough time to watch TV, but I make it a rule to watch TV every morning. I surely check weather forecast and latest news. I don't have newspaper, so Internet and TV is important to me to get new information.
Of course TV has bad points, especially to children. These are not always true.
TV program have many fictions because they edit it to make funnier. So we need to choose programs and information.

Using TV cleverly is important, I think.

About TV

I don't watch TV but it not because I don't like it. I just don't have enough time.
I think TV is not so bad thing. It gives us many information and makes us fun.But it also has bad points. Same opinion as Maiko, some variety plograms is bad for education.
But if we lost TV now, nost people become boring and much less known about the world problems I think.
We must think much seriously about this addiction to TV.

Yeah, the point is How to Use It.

As Kumiko said, TV is difficult to use efficiently. Well, I like to watch music programs or movies, but rarely watch variety programs. Not all of them, but some of them look down on some peoples, I hate that one. Therefore, I think I can understand Dr. Armstrong complaint, however it is impossible to live without TV because we know how useful and interesting it is. The most dangerous situation is that we always feel interesting of it even if the program is cruel.

TV

Yes TV is bad. Maybe I was being a little critical but I actually agree with Dr.Armstrong. I think he's totally right. Most TV programs are lame. Everyone knows it. It's just a kind of addiction. They know it's silly but they can't stop it. What do you think they should do to get over this addiction?? Going out with friends? Reading? Yeah, there are so many things to do but I don't know, I do these things, yet at night or when I have a little time, I just watch TV. I don't even know why!!!
However, things have benefits and drawbacks. Actually we can see exactly what the things look like on the TV. I think that's one of its benefits. I guess you guys haven't been to all the countries in the world, but actually you know what America, France, China, Egypt or whatever.. are like, right?? Because you have seen those countries on the TV.
Well, of course we shouldn't watch TV too much. It's a waste of time. I think we just have to learn how to get along with TV because I don't think it will go away for a while...

Great Blogs and One Extreme View

Wow, your ideas keep getting better and better. I love the concept of a geography of love. I think we could discuss that for a long time . . .

Special note: OK, I get it. Yes, probably I should keep quiet about my extreme and unpopular view of TV. I'm sure that it makes people who like TV happy to meet other people who like TV. I have a great sense of humor and irony but, I don't know, when I watch TV, all I see is violence and sexism and violent sexism---people being cruel and childish, women (and men) being treated as objects and idiots. Am I being too serious-minded about this?

I just can't stand that everyone watches this and absorbs those bad lessons again and again and again. For all the people who don't care and think that's OK, well, OK, that's their business. Hey, I'm an optimist. I look outside and see a beautiful world. But, on television, I see the lowest common denominator of human behavior. I want to rise above that, at least. (Sigh!)

Hey, how about introducing a "geography of television"? I think it might be interesting . . .

Dear Yuka

Thanks for your reply. I was impressed by your words. I think so too♪
Geography of love is very deep and unknown. I could feel only in my heart. Therefore it is difficult to understand each other. I am awkward in this kind of things but let's talk about this kind of story next time☆

My hometown

To Wakabayashi
I drunk it the day before yesterday when I came home after my work. It not so bad taste♪Let's drink it you too!

To Yuka
Your words is so nice♡I also think love is very difficult thing. I'm very poor at that kinds of things..

My hometown is Mitakadai. It's in Tokyo and near the Kichijyoji. There is nothing. Only convenience stores and CD rental shop( But TUTAYA was closed down so it is not that one). So mostly I go to Kichijyoji. But I like my hometown very much. It has nice atmosphere . I carm down at here.
But even though, I want to get out from this town and want to live alone.

To mami wakabayashi!

I am also interested in BEAUJOLAIS NOUVEAU♪ I found it at Machida station and I wanted to drink a little, but I couldn't. I try to drink it someday. My father loves drinking alcohol very much. He drinks whisky every night. So he knows many kinds of alcohol well. Under the influence of him, I am interested in the kinds of alcohol. However, I can't feel the difference when I compare with the taste of two different sources.

To Megumi

Thank you, Megumi☆ I agree with your opinion. Japanese consciousness is too low to improve the pretty bad situation. We are too luxurious and a lot of food is wasted. As Kaori said, I also think "Mottainai!!!." So I try not to waste any food and I want to find what I can do for it. African and Asian people are the same as us. Many kinds of resources are in Africa and Asia. So we have to appreciate them, I think. And... I wish nobody died of hunger.

To Mika

Thank you for the comment for me!!

Yes, there are many people in summer and this town become very cheerful. But atually I like the sea in winter, too!! There are a little people and is very quiet... When I was a junior high school student, I used to go to the beach in winter and talk with my friends. It is my memory I never forget. And at night, we can see many beautiful stars.

When you come to Shin-Enosui, please tell me and let's go together!!
I'm looking forward...

Thank you!!

Thank you, Akiko!

Hi, your ski circle's excrcise is really hard, isn't it!? And you cannot be with your family on New Year's Day... But enjouy your circle!!

I have skied once when I was high school student. And it was really scary. I slipped so many times!! And I was about to collide with other people!! But actually I like snow. On spring vacation, our circle will go snowboarding. I want to enjoy it.

And I hope someday you will go abroad and use your great ability of English.

Dear Saori

Thank you for the comment for me!!

You seem to enjoy your part-time job, don't you? It was so hard for me to work for so long time but I like people working together so I could.

By the way, where will you go and what will you do in St. Christmas Day??
I want to be my friends but I can't...actually, I will go skiing as club activity and can't go home till 1/8...I will miss you so please e-mail meeeeee!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, I haven't benn to foreign countries so I can't imagine what like Turkish!! Please take me there some day! Please!!

Dear Akiko...and my hometown

Hello. You seems to worked hard. Please lest enough. I want to buy yakitori at your shop.

Yesterday I worked from 9:00am to 18:00pm. And when I reached mu house, I slept soon because I was so tired. And our shop strated put a christmas tree!! It was really beautiful.

And let me tell you about my hometown. I was born in Ankara, a capital city of Turkey. I was there until I was 2 years old, so I don't remember that time. But my parents told me that everyone around us was really kind.

This summer vacation, I went to Turkey and saw my house. My house didn't change, but aquaintances at that time were already moved. But I could speak with people who live in my house now. It was good memory. People in Turkey were very kind and friendly... I want to go to Turkey again!!

Dear Mari

Mari, I also watched the movie the other day. It was impressive story, so my friend and I cried at the end of it. Now I'm talking about the geography of love. I think love exists in one's heart. Sometimes it's difficult to understand what love means because we cannot see the shape and existence. We have to feel only by heart.

☆To Akiko☆

You live near Enoshima?? That is wonderful! I like sea, so I envy you because you can go to the beach soon. In summer, the atmosphere of Enoshima is more cheerful, isn't it??

I have been Enoshima several times, but I have not been to an aqarium yet.........so, if I have a chance, I want to go there next time☆★

My Hometown

Thank you, Megumi. Yesterday I had a part-time job and worked for 9.5 hours but I'm getting better.

Now let me talk about my hometown.

I was born in Osaka and moved to Kanagawa when Iwas 3 year-old. Now my house is in Katase-kaigan. Do you know? Fifteen-minute walk will take you to Shin-Enoshui. Have you been to this aquarium?

And twenty-minute will take you Enoshima. There are a festival of firework in summer vacation and I can see it from my house.

If you haven't been Katase-kaigan, please come on and enjoy this small and beautiful town.

Thank you.

To Ryoko, Hiroki and Yukiko

Thank you for commenting about my blog.
The probrem about the world's population is very difficult.
I always think that I wish every people who live in the earth can eat enough food for living.
almost all developed countrys is full of food.
Yesterday, I saw the bakery which was closed(the time was pm10:00)
and then, saw the clerk had garbage whish was full of many many bread.
I thought "Mottainai!!!!!" and I wish we can send the bread to the countries where many people who can't eat enough live.

★BEAUJOLAIS NOUVEAU★

To Mari, did you see "tadakimiwoaishiteru"!!?? I really want to see it! I also want to be moved by it, and feel pure love♡Please tell me the detail next class!!

November 16 was the special day!! It was the day of lifting the BEAUJOLAIS NOUVEAU. This wine made from BEAUJOLAIS area which is nominated to one of the major source of wine in France. It is made every year and the day of lifting is appointed, which is third Thursday, November. We can drink it earlier than any countries because of the International Date Line.
Why don’t you drink BEAUJOLAIS NOUVEAU?? I don’t know the taste of wine, but I am interested in it a little.

Antually, I heard this year’s BEAUJOLAIS NOUVEAU is not good….( ゚Д゚)

To Mika

Oh! Your hometown is Okinawa?? It's grate!! I want to have so-men chanpuru. I like go-ya chanpuru♡ I never go to Okinawa. I want to go there!! Most of people go there for school trip. But my school didn't have school trip. I like dialect of Okinawa because I feel warmth♡

exhaustedddd

I'm tired as hell. I worked from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm today. It was really a hectic day. I need to relax and chill out more!!! Yet it's actually nice to be busy. I hate doing absolutely nothing and staying at home. It's boring and when I'm bored, I watch TV, which Dr.Armstrong thinks is BAD. So maybe I should be busy. But you know what?? Unlike Dr. Armstrong, Gray, our IE Writing teacher actually likes watching TV. He also watches Japanese dramas. And you know his son is a model and he's on a music video of Kinki kids. I'm not a fan of them but I think that's amazing, right?
Okay guys. Hasta mañana!

"tadakimiwoaishiteru"

I saw "tadakimiwoaishiteru" today☆ At the ending part, I was moved to tears... I felt sad... Tamaki Hiroshi made me irritated at the beginning part because Miyazaki Aoi was doing her best but he was too insensitive to notice her feelings.
This movie made me think about love. I can't forget her sayings at the end of the part. What do you think the geography of love? I don't know exactly and I think there is no stabled extent. I think there are many kinds of love. Miyazaki Aoi took many picture of the couples kissing. They were all smiling differently and each picture made me happy.
Sorry, I can't organize what I want to say but this movie made me think a lot.
I recommend many people to see this movie☆

To Yukiko

I also think the problem of food is getting very serious today. We Japanese are well supplied with food and drink, but we must not take it for granted. There are lots of people who can't get enough food to live in the world, especially in Africa or Asia. What should we do? Japan do financal help for developing countries every year, though I think it's formal and still not enough... Besides, our conscious for the problem is too low. It's one of the difficult problem so we should consider this deeply again.

To Kaori

I was surprised at your blog. I didn't know how the world's population is increasing. Yeah, it is a big problem. In Japan, although the land is very small, more than 0.1 billion people live in. Many high buildings are built, and more and more buildings are being founded. At the same time, air pollution is getting worse and worse. We must improve this situation.
Moreover, I want to say about food. Countries like a developed country have enough food, but other countries like a developing country don't have food for living. So many people die of poverty. This is also big problem. Not only the luck of food but also the rate of food which developed countries have must be reconsidered, I think.

☆To Mami.W☆

I was surprized at the news of the second Tokyo Tower!! I didn't know it(゜_゜)

It is sure that we need more high tower, but I miss the present Tokyo Tower.........because it has been a symbol of Tokyo for a long time. The orange tower which is lighted up is beautiful, isn't it??

Although I have gone up the Tokyo Tower only once, I want to go again before it stops its role.

The socond Tokyo tower.

To Ryoko, take care yourself!! Recently it is getting cold more and more, so be careful to not catch a cold.
By the way, do you know the project of constructing the second Tokyo tower?? The present Tokyo tower can’t receive radio wave well because the height is not enough. Around the Tokyo tower, there are many high buildings and it is also one of the causes. Before 2011, we will completely change analogue broadcasting to digital and then the second Tokyo tower, whose name is Sumida tower, will be constructed. Its height is about 610 meter which is taller than Tokyo tower. After its building, Tokyo tower is going to stop its role. Wow!! I was very surprised at it!!

To Kaori

I'm also surprised at the increase of world's population and I think Japan is happy country, too. But, whether population increase or decrease is different in each country. Some countries, especially developing countries, increase its population. These countries don't have good medical treatment, so many of newborn babies die. Besides, many people need as much worker as possible to earn their living, Therefore, people who live in deveoping country raise a lot of children and these countries' population increase. On the other hand, several developed countries will decrease its population in the future. Japan is one of them. These countries have good medical treatment, and their life is rich, so they don't need to many children to work. And then its population will decrease.
Although increasing population too much isn't good, decrease it too much isn't also good. I don't want to disappear Japanese.

To Kaori

To Ryoko

To Mika

Your home town is Okinawa, isn't it?
I t is wonderful!!!
I have ever gone to Okinawa.
I had two chances to go to Okinawa, but eventually I couldn't go.
Because at first, My brother caught a cold, and second time my brother had schedule, suddenly.
I was out of luck.

I want to eat "So-men Chanpuru"!!

The world's population

I hard that the world's population is increasing everywhere, but it is ploblem .
in 1987 when I was born, the world's population is 5billion.Now it is 6.5billion.
I was surprised to know the numerical value.
If the population increase too much, it exceed the capacity ,that is,foods which are harvested in the earth can't keep all people in the world alive.
After reading this story, I feel that almost all Japanese people happy is happy.

By the way, recently there was a sudden drop in temparature.
And then I caught a cold.Today, I feel tired because of cold.
Be careful about cold!!!

By the way, are you going to go to Izu?? I envy you, because I like Ize very much(≧∀≦)
Although I haven't been to overseas, but to Sizuoka prefecture many times!! Especially, Izu is my favorite. Izu has a beautiful sea, delicious food and spas!

Then I hope you will have a good time☆

To mari!!

Hi, Mari♡
I saw "tada kimi wo aishiteru" last weekend!! It was wonderful and moving!!
I fell in love with Hiroshi Tamaki♪He is very cool!!
If you haven't seen yet, you'd better see this movie!!!!!!!!!!

My hometown and culture

My hometown is Okinawa. I was born and brought up there until I was 4 years old. Okinawa has an interesting culture and it seems to be different from other prefectures!!

To tell the truth, I had thought that Okinawan culture was common in Japan for a long time, no, I didn't realized it was local colour........But when I was a junior high school student, I knew it. In my home, we often eat "So-men Chanpuru"(そうめんチャンプルー), a local dishes of Okinawa. But most of my friends asked me, "Why do you fry noodles??!" I was shocked(゜_゜)!!

I think culture is a part of the geography. Then I like my local dishes, songs, and dialect. I want to treasure them from now on☆☆

November 11

Do you know day of peanut?? It was on November 11. Recently, the day of pocky become popular, so many people don't know November 11 is day of peanut too.
I live in Chiba and Chiba's special product is peanut♪It's very delicious but expensive...
Some family do "setsubun" with peanut♡ My family do"setsubun" with peanut too.

By the way, I'll go to Izu on next Wednesday and Thursday. Because I'm one of the organizers of next summer's training camp of badminton circle!! So I and other members have to go and take a look before we decide next summer's training camp place. Since this is a part of our work, we can go Izu for free♪ It's wonderful, isn't it!?

I'm sorry that this journal digress from geography. Thank you for reading!!

To Masato

Thanks for the new information about shooting star☆☆ I am looking forward to seeing the shooting stars. But unfortunately, it is cloudy this night... I will try tomorrow♪

Geography

Talking of the geography, I thought the classroom's structure is also interesting. There are the desks and chairs placed in front of the blackboard in our class. It is better to listen to the teacher. In the art class of my high school, there were the big tables. About 6 people sit around 1 table. It was fun to talk the idea and do the works. How about music class? At my high school there was the piano in front of the room and then about 4 long tables were placed. How about the chapel in the Aoyama Gakuin? The stage for the priest is set and long tables and chairs were placed. This makes much more better to listen to the priest. I think it is interesting. Many class has each organization, which each of them have the reason to place alike.

What do you think?

My Hometown

I'm from Fukushima, and I love my hometown. There are rich, beautiful nature that heal our heart, and many historical buildings. We also speak dialect called Aizu-ben. I sometimes use it without notice. I often say “menkoi” (means cute), or “nageru” (means throwing away). I read Chisumi and Masato's blogs, and found there are many kind of dialect in each region. It's very interesting!

Geography

There is the cosmic ivent from today's midnight to Sunday's early in the morning. It is "Leonid","Shishiza-ryuseigun" in Japanese. We may be able to watch a lot of shooting stars if we are lucky. So if you have an interest and if the weather is good, how about watching the sky at night?

dialect

My hometown is Shizuoka and we also have some dialects. The famous dialects are, for example, "~dara", "~dani" and "~saa" in ending. Mainly, the first two dialects are spoken in western part of Shizuoka and the latter is spoken in eastern part.
When I entered Aoyamagakuin University and came here first in April, I often used some dialects and sometimes my friends couldn't understand what I said... But I rarely speak in dialect now.
