My hometown is Okinawa. I was born and brought up there until I was 4 years old. Okinawa has an interesting culture and it seems to be different from other prefectures!!
To tell the truth, I had thought that Okinawan culture was common in Japan for a long time, no, I didn't realized it was local colour........But when I was a junior high school student, I knew it. In my home, we often eat "So-men Chanpuru"(そうめんチャンプルー), a local dishes of Okinawa. But most of my friends asked me, "Why do you fry noodles??!" I was shocked(゜_゜)!!
I think culture is a part of the geography. Then I like my local dishes, songs, and dialect. I want to treasure them from now on☆☆
