Special note: OK, I get it. Yes, probably I should keep quiet about my extreme and unpopular view of TV. I'm sure that it makes people who like TV happy to meet other people who like TV. I have a great sense of humor and irony but, I don't know, when I watch TV, all I see is violence and sexism and violent sexism---people being cruel and childish, women (and men) being treated as objects and idiots. Am I being too serious-minded about this?
I just can't stand that everyone watches this and absorbs those bad lessons again and again and again. For all the people who don't care and think that's OK, well, OK, that's their business. Hey, I'm an optimist. I look outside and see a beautiful world. But, on television, I see the lowest common denominator of human behavior. I want to rise above that, at least. (Sigh!)
Hey, how about introducing a "geography of television"? I think it might be interesting . . .
