I also thought that. She divorced because of her husband’s mother.
In those days, it was so rare things that she could not live as same as general people.
That is why she went to Canada to marry the man, but she didn’t satisfy with him and she didn’t marry him. When I watched this scene, I was very surprised. This is because if I were her, I couldn’t do such a thing. I thought she had a strong will.
In addition, Mr. Armstrong talked about the connection between the Asayo’s and Japan.
When I heard that, I could understand her thinking.
If she died and the person who can know about Japan disappeared at her family, the connection to Japan would disappear, because her family except for her doesn’t have Japanese geography. That is why she is a very important person.
This movie made me think a lot of things and influenced on me.
