Come On In

Welcome to IE 2 2009/10 members of this class blog for journaling, discussion, and communication. Remember that you need to enter into the blog at least twice a week (more is better). Let's comment, point each other to new information, and ask questions. Also, don't forget to feed the fish (tap pool to make food). Are you ready? Blog on!

Congratulations

All right! Now the blogging is really happening and I can see real English communication going on. Good work everyone, keep it up.

Kumiko, yes, it's true. Most TV is violent, sexist, foolish junk. Reality shows, stupid variety shows, horrible news, bad movies,. . . no wonder so many children grow up confused and violent! But, even if it was mostly intelligent (or even interesting . . .), the other point of it is that I would rather experience life directly rather than sit around doing something passive. Our family evenings are packed with cooking, eating, meeting with friends, reading, sewing, singing, going to lectures or museums or events of various kinds, drawing, playing games, etc. etc. Even if we had interest in TV, I don't see any space of time to watch it! The thing I would never be inclined to do is "just have the TV on in the background" like many people do. I want to give 100% attention to the person I am with or the activity I am working on. Especially, TV would eat into my reading time and I just love reading. Always have. Everyone at my house is that way. So, in fact, NHK will never collect anything from me!

Thanks for new entries on work and career. This is great as we have a children's author coming to Aoyama who will be talking about her life and work. Are there any among you who have interest in being a writer? A children's book writer/illustrator?
What do you imagine your marketable talents to be?

Think about including photos or pictures to illustrate your blogs. It's easy. Also, it is possible for every member to create an interesting profile. Why not do it? Click on my name to see an example. Let's share. Blog on!
