Hello! How are you?
Today, I will go to beauty salon:) Before going there, I want to write things that I learned from short movies I watched in IE class.
About first one, what Tezuka want to say is that a free way of thinking is the important thing in child age. When Tezuka made this movie, the examination ordeal was raging. Because of this situation, children weren't allowed to think or learn freely. It ignores each personality. So, I think Tezuka insists in this movie that parents must think more deeply about children's personality. At the same time, I noticed the importance of fundamental human rights.
In the last scene, I thought that a boy got a free thinking by suicide. It means that a boy can't get a free thinking by another way.
About second one, I think common appeal is that importance of a free way of thinking. Her mental condition is to think about the sea. I think The sea is a symbol of freedom in this movie. So, she got a freedom completely by going to the sea in the last scene.
I want to hear an another opinion from another point of view :) I'm looking forward to reading your opinion!
Bye!
